5 Day District Courts

A Michigan Supreme Court Administrative Order has suspended the court rule that allows district courts to require tenants to file written answers to eviction complaints within five days. The 5-day District Courts are: District 1 (Monroe County), District 2A (Lenawee County), District 12 (Jackson County), District 18: (City of Westland, Wayne County), District 81 (Alcona, Arenac, Iosco & Oscoda Counties), District 82 (Ogemaw County), District 95B (Dickinson & Iron Counties). If you have an eviction case in one of these courts, and they require you to file a written answer within five days of getting the eviction complaint, contact your local legal services office for help.
