Michigan Legal Help Self-Help Center Network of Wayne County

On Friday, April 14, 2023, the Self-Help Center will be closed due to Staffing Shortages.  The Center will resume normal business hours at Coleman A. Young Municipal Center on Monday, April 17, 2023.

 

The Michigan Legal Help Self-Help Center is located in the Coleman A. Young Center on the 19th Floor (Room-1911) located at 2 Woodward Ave., Detroit, Michigan.

The Center hours are 9:00am-3:00pm Monday through Friday. The last visitor must sign in for services no later than 2:00pm. The office must close promptly at 3:00pm. The Center is closed for court holidays.

The Penobscot Building location is currently closed to the public.
 
The Self-Help Center can assist Wayne County residents who wish to gain information about how to represent themselves in simple legal matters, through the Michigan Legal Help Website. 
 

In addition to the website, Self-Help Center staff (called ‘navigators’) will be available to help visitors find what they need on the website, answer questions about court practices and processes, and answer simple questions about forms available on the website.  Navigators cannot give legal advice.
